A group commitment to preventing injury, ill health and unsafe work

DOCUMENT STATUSThis public policy does not replace any legally required country-, workplace- or activity-specific Safety Statement, risk assessment, method statement, emergency plan or client-site safety plan.

Scope and commitment

This policy applies to Rockstone Engineering Switzerland Sàrl and Rockstone Engineering Limited, their employees, workers and controlled contractors. Rockstone will provide safe and healthy working conditions so far as reasonably practicable, consult people affected by the work and comply with applicable health-and-safety requirements.

Leadership and responsibilities

  • Directors provide leadership, resources and oversight and ensure country-specific legal arrangements are maintained.
  • Managers plan work, identify hazards, assess risk, implement controls, verify competence and stop work that cannot be performed safely.
  • Workers follow controls, use equipment correctly, protect others and promptly report hazards, incidents, near misses and changing conditions.
  • Suppliers and contractors must meet applicable law, agreed standards and site rules; outsourcing does not remove Rockstone’s duties within its control.

Risk management

Rockstone identifies hazards before work begins and when people, equipment, location, schedule or scope changes. Controls follow the hierarchy: eliminate the hazard where possible, then substitute, engineer, administrate and use personal protective equipment as the final layer. Significant findings, owners and review dates are recorded.

Competence, consultation and stop-work authority

People receive information, instruction, training and supervision appropriate to their work. Workers and representatives are consulted on material risks and controls. Anyone may pause or refuse work they reasonably believe presents a serious or uncontrolled danger, without retaliation, and must escalate the concern for assessment.

Client sites, travel and remote work

Before work at a client or construction site, Rockstone clarifies responsibilities, induction, permits, emergency arrangements, access controls and reporting. Personnel follow the stricter applicable legal, Rockstone or site requirement unless that would itself create risk. Travel and remote-work planning considers fatigue, lone work, ergonomics, communications, personal security and emergency contact.

Incidents and emergencies

Injuries, ill health, dangerous occurrences, near misses and unsafe conditions are reported promptly. Rockstone provides immediate response, secures the area, obtains medical or emergency support, preserves evidence, notifies authorities and clients where required, investigates causes and verifies corrective actions. Emergency exercises are proportionate to location and risk.

Health, wellbeing and dignity

Health risk includes physical and psychological harm. Workload, fatigue, workplace conduct and foreseeable stressors are considered alongside physical hazards. This policy works with the Equal Opportunities Statement and any local dignity-at-work, sickness, wellbeing or occupational-health arrangements.

Assurance and review

Rockstone monitors incidents, inspections, risk actions, training, supplier performance and changes in work. Directors review the policy at least annually and after a serious incident, legal change or material operational change. Country-specific safety documentation must be approved and maintained separately.
