About Rockstone
We are not building another engineering company.
We are building Europe’s leading bioprocess automation firm — founded by engineers who have stood on the floor of some of the most complex GMP manufacturing facilities in the world.
Rockstone Engineering exists because the life sciences sector deserves an automation partner that understands both the process and the control system. Not a generalist consultancy that happens to work in pharma. Not a staffing agency that places engineers. A firm built specifically around the conviction that the gap between a control system that runs and one that truly performs lies in whether the engineers who built it understood the process behind it.
Our Story
It started in Switzerland.
In late 2024, Rockstone Engineering was established in Marly, with the support of the Greater Geneva Berne Area — one of Europe’s most advanced life sciences ecosystems. Switzerland sits at the centre of European biologics manufacturing, home to some of the most complex and technically demanding GMP facilities in the world.
The Irish entity followed in early 2026, supported by Enterprise Ireland — reflecting Rockstone’s commitment to the life sciences sector across Ireland and the broader European market, where the demand for genuine DCS and MES expertise continues to outpace supply.
Rockstone’s Process Automation Engineers have delivered programmes at some of the most technically demanding facilities in European biologics manufacturing — from vaccine PPQ campaigns to large-scale mammalian CDMO builds. Engineers placed by Rockstone are active across Ireland, the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Austria and Romania.
The goal is clear: to be the firm that pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers across Europe turn to when the automation and MES work is too important to get wrong.

Founder & Managing Director
Christopher Greenan
Christopher started his career on the floor of an MSD vaccine facility in Ireland — as Lead Process Engineer on shift for a GMP commercial manufacturing programme, responsible for a product given to children globally. That experience — understanding both the biological process and the control systems running it — is what Rockstone is built on.
He holds a first class MSc in Bioprocess Engineering from ATU and NIBRT, and has since delivered DCS and MES programmes at some of the most complex biologics manufacturing facilities in Europe, including large-scale CDMO builds in Switzerland. He also competes in Ironman triathlons. Same discipline. Different finish line.
“Most automation failures aren’t platform failures. They’re understanding failures — a control system built by someone who never had to stand on the floor when the batch went wrong. That’s the gap Rockstone exists to close.”

Commercial Operations Lead
Kinga Koziol
Kinga is the person who makes Rockstone work in practice. Based at Rockstone’s Irish hub in the M:Tek II building, Monaghan, she manages the commercial operations that connect clients, engineering talent and projects across Europe — with a particular focus on supporting biotech clients across Ireland, Switzerland and the wider European market.
Her focus is on positioning Rockstone as more than an engineering supplier — a partner clients turn to for the latest thinking in automation and digitalisation. She is the reason Rockstone’s European network functions as a network rather than a list of contacts.
“Clients don’t need another supplier waiting for instructions. They need a partner who’s already thought about where automation and digitalisation are heading — and who brings that thinking to the table before they have to ask for it.”
What We Believe
-
Automation Strategy & System Architecture
We understand the biology and chemistry behind the control system — not just the platform. That is what makes the difference between automation that runs and automation that performs.
-
Functional Design Specifications (FDS)
We work exclusively in life sciences. Every engineer in our network has been vetted specifically for pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing.
-
Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
We work inside your project team, not around it — from design through commissioning and into commercial production.
-
Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
Rockstone AI is in development — AI-assisted engineering tooling for DCS and MES design, built on real project experience.
