How the Rockstone website uses cookies and similar technologies
YOUR CHOICEStrictly necessary technologies operate without optional consent. Analytics, personalisation and marketing technologies must remain off until you choose them. Use the persistent “Cookie Settings” link to change or withdraw your choice.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on a device. Similar technologies may use local storage, pixels, tags or software development kits. This policy uses “cookies” to refer to all of them unless the context requires otherwise.
Categories used
| CATEGORY | PURPOSE | CONSENT |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, network delivery, form operation and storing the user’s privacy choices | Not optional; used only where necessary for the requested service |
| Analytics | Measure visits, performance and content use so the site can be improved | Off until consent |
| Personalisation | Remember non-essential preferences or tailor content | Off until consent |
| Marketing | Measure campaigns, build audiences or support advertising across services | Off until consent |
Cookie register
The live Cookie Settings panel is the authoritative cookie register. It must identify each active cookie or similar technology, provider, purpose, category and duration before that optional technology is enabled. The static summary below explains the expected website configuration.
| TECHNOLOGY | PROVIDER | PURPOSE | DURATION |
|---|---|---|---|
| Consent preference record | Rockstone / consent-management provider | Stores categories accepted or rejected and evidence of the choice | Up to six months before renewal; a limited record may be retained longer to demonstrate compliance |
| Security and delivery technologies | Rockstone / approved hosting and security providers | Protects forms and services, balances traffic and prevents misuse | Session or short-lived, according to the live register |
| Analytics, personalisation or marketing | Only providers named in Cookie Settings | Only the specific purpose shown in Cookie Settings | Only the duration shown in Cookie Settings; blocked before consent |
How consent works
- The first-layer banner presents equally prominent “Accept all”, “Reject optional” and “Manage settings” choices.
- Optional technologies are blocked until the user makes a positive choice; silence, scrolling or continued browsing is not consent.
- Choices are granular by purpose, and no optional category is pre-selected.
- A persistent Cookie Settings control allows consent to be changed or withdrawn as easily as it was given.
- Rockstone asks for consent again at least every six months, and sooner if the purposes or providers materially change.
Third-party and embedded services
Pages may contain maps, videos, scheduling tools, social media or other content supplied by third parties. Where these services set optional cookies or send identifiers, the content must be blocked or presented in privacy-preserving form until consent. The third party may act as an independent controller under its own notice.
Browser controls and consequences
Most browsers allow cookies to be deleted or blocked. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent forms, preferences or security features from working. Browser controls do not replace the website’s Cookie Settings control and may not affect all similar technologies.
Governance and review
Rockstone performs a technical scan before publication and after material website changes. The site owner must reconcile the scan, consent platform, tag manager and this policy; no optional tag may be released without an owner, purpose, legal basis, duration and consent category.
